C.J. Rance (Pty) Ltd (Trading as Rance Timber), a saw milling company manufacturing premium quality South African pine sawn board products, has been in operation since 1910.
The company is committed to providing industry leading service and quality for its valued customers. It operates two sawmills:
Kubusi Sawmill - Large Log Sawmill
Sandile Sawmill - Small Log Sawmill
Log resource is supplied mainly from the 15 000 ha plantations owned and managed by its sister company, Amathole Forestry Company. These plantations are managed on a sustained yield basis according to best international and environmental practices.
The predominant species of pine grown include Pinus elliottii, Pinus patula and Pinus radiata.
The sawn board output is kiln-dried before being converted to a finished product for the market through various secondary processing activities, i.e. end-trimmed, finger-jointed, ripped, sized, PAR or moulded. CCA (Tanalith) treatment is also offered.
